Lupini

Lupini Keeshonden, at Big Rock, Illinois*, are owned by Joan and A.R. (Dick) Magliozzi, and closely line-bred on Champion Rich-Bob's Storm Weather, ROMX** and Champion Flakkee Jackpot,HOF, ROMX**, primarily through Champion Star-Kees Batman, ROMX**, which is mainly the old Wistonia line with a bit of Ruttkay.

The Magliozzi's foundation bitch, Champion Gregory's Pittance of Tryon, ROM***,was bred by Donald Gregory and obtained from Les Baker & Don Gregory. She is the daughter of Am/Can Champion Tryon's Tuppance, a multiple BOB winner and BOS winner at the 1977 Keeshond Fanciers of Central States Specialty. Tuppance's litter sister was Ch.Tryon's Fearless Fruhling, ROMX**, top producing Kees bitch in the history of the breed [at that time.] Pittance completed her championship before she was 2 yrs old, primarily novice owner- handled. Specialed briefly, she was a multiple best of breed winner over nationally ranked specials. She excelled as a family companion and producer. Her only litter, sired by Ch. Windrift's Lover Boy, ROM, produced five champions, all of whom finished with distiction, not just perseverance. These include Champion Lupini Pretty Boy Floyd, who finished in August 1981 with three "majors", Best of Breed over leading "specials" en route to the title, Best in Sweepstakes at the Sahuaro Specialty( in connection with the 1981 National Specialty,2nd in his futurity class to the BIF and 3rd in the National Bred-By-Exhibitor class.

Littermate to Floyd, Ch.Lupini Lovely Weather was BOSIS at the 1980 Keeshond Fanciers of Central States Specialty and finished with a 4-point major and Best of Breed from the classes at the Chicago International in 1981. She is a multiple breed winner and won Best of Opposite Sex at the Heart of the America Keeshond Specialty in 1982.

Littermate Champion Lupini Mobs Moll, owned by William and Carolyn Coughlin, finished in October 1981, taking Winners Bitch at the Sahuaro Keeshond Speciatly on the way. Another littermate, Champion Lupini Hit Man owned by George and Janet Hill, finished in nine shows with four consecutive "majors." He later joined the Beasleys in Canada at Sandant Kennels, where he finished his Canadian champion quickly and went Best of Breed at the Canadian National Specialty...

Joan and Dick Magliozzi also are owners of the smashing young dog Champion Playmate Tic Tac of Toes, by Champion Graywyn's Klassic Kasanova ex Am.Can Champion Tryon's Tuppance 5* Dam. This handsome dog was Best in Sweepstakes at the 1980 Keeshond Fanciers of Central States, and finished in March 1981. A multiple breed winner and consistent group placer in limited showing, he is a double grandson of Ch. Rich Bob's Stormy Weather, ROMX ***. A daughter from his first litter went Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the 1982 Southern Cal Specialty from the 9-12 months puppy class, and placed the other day, finishing quite easily before two years of age.......

The Magliozzis would certainly seem to have struck the perfect breeding combination for their dogs, and we look to their success with admiration.

We at Lupini appreciated Miss Nicholas' compliment. However, much of our success belongs to the breeders of our foundation dogs, for their help and guidance, and to the owners of the kees that have become part our our breeding program.
*Lupini Keeshonden moved from Big Rock, IL to Leesport, PA.
